Conversion Lag

What is it?

Conversion lag is simply the time it takes for a conversion to be attributed to AdWords. This is because a user often interacts with your campaign but takes a few days to actually convert on your website.

Example

  • On November 12, a user clicks on your ad
  • The user favorites your page but still doesn't convert
  • On November 15, the same user returns to your website and finally converts.

Google will assign the conversion to November 12th, not the 15th!

Yes, you can look at your conversions at 11:59 p.m. that day and they will probably increase over the next few hours, days and weeks!
